Stora Enso wins award for its contribution to worlds largest catalogue

The award for quality has been given to Stora Enso by IKEA. It relates to the production of the Swedish furniture group's main catalogue, said to be the world's largest printed matter. Around 110m copies are printed world wide.

IKEA's Printing Award is given annually to the best performing suppliers. Stora Enso makes the coverboard for the catalogue from two plants, at Baienfurt in Germany and Fors in Sweden. Baienfurt produces the 170 gsm Aurocard exclusively for IKEA while Fors supplies Chromocard 180 gsm.
"This reflects the tremendous efforts of everyone involved in the production process within the group's board division," says Lars Lundin, Business Area Director for Graphical Board. Stora Enso has managed to live up to very demanding supplier expectations points out Lundin. "IKEA is a very challenging customer. The company has been at the forefront of technical and environmental developments."
For Stora Enso, the award is a culmination of renewed efforts in production quality. "We have taken the concerns of customers to heart," says Lundin, "Our focus is on quality and understanding customer needs."
