/INS.Global crane company Konecranes has re-invented the RTG (Rubber Tyred Gantry crane) and simplified its operation — while adding innovative technology developed by Konecranes for its Automated Stacking Cranes (ASCs).

/INS. After several studies, and backed by a thorough understanding of customer needs, Konecranes launched  the BOXHUNTER and reinvented the RTG crane. The innovations at a glance: the operator has been brought down to earth. The cabin has been brought down to the truck lane, the heart of container handling action. The BOXHUNTER operating concept is unique: a complete rethinking of RTG operation and operator ergonomics.

/INS. Konecranes, one of the world’s market leaders in lifting technology, will be attending MED PORTS 2014 — the biggest annual Container Ports and Terminal Operations Exhibition and Conference Event for the Mediterranean Region. The event will take place April 23-24, 2014 in Marrakesh, Morocco. At the exhibition, in stand 11 in hall Salle Atlas 3 & 4, Konecranes will focus its presence on Port Cranes and Lift Trucks.

Konecranes SLX electric chain hoists with hoisting inverter automatically adjust to the safe working load (SWL) /INS. Konecranes is expanding its range of workstation lifting systems with newly developed SLX electric chain hoists. The new models with integrated hoisting inverter ensure processes are more efficient and faster – thanks to variable hoisting speed and automatic load recognition. Benefits include greater ease of use, a boost in productivity and a longer crane service life. The SLX electric chain hoists can be used in standalone applications, such as assembly cells for the processing industry, as well as in workstation cranes.

/INS.Konecranes South Africa was commissioned to erect the main turbine hall cranes for the three new Eskom power generation plants in South Africa. Medupi and Kusile are the two latest coal-fired power stations from Eskom, and Ingula is its most recent hydroelectric power plant. Altogether, four 120/50t cranes and two 265t overhead cranes were installed at these power stations.
