/INS . This year’s winner of the international Swedish Steel Prize is Ponsse from Finland. The prize is awarded for the company’s new generation of forest harvester, the Scorpion. Ponsse has with high-strength steel realized a revolutionary design which improves both performance and comfort.

/INS .Finnish company Ponsse Plc gave its designers a free hand to create a new generation of forest harvester. The result was the Ponsse Scorpion, built around the operator with a focus on ergonomics. High-strength steels enabled Ponsse to improve both harvester performance and control. The Ponsse Scorpion has been named one of four finalists for this year’s Swedish Steel Prize.

The South African company Milotek Pty Ltd has developed a completely new, innovative and environmentally aware system for high-capacity heavy transportation: a modular elevated track with self-propelled trains. The Futran System creatively utilizes high-strength steel in several different parts of the structure. Milotek is one of four finalists for this year’s Swedish Steel Prize.

/INS . Brazilian company Fácil System developed wear-resistant steel knives for its raw material shredding mill, making the sugar cane shredding process more efficient. Benefits of the new mill include better performance, energy savings, increased productivity and extended service life. For this innovative use of steel, Fácil System has been named one of four finalists for this year’s Swedish Steel Prize.
