Walki Group, a leading producer of technical laminates and packaging materials, took up a major challenge. As a result, French luxury coffee maker Malongo will introduce, in December 2012, a novel way to pack high-quality coffee pods using environmentally sustainable and recyclable materials. The new packaging was developed in cooperation between Walki, Swedish paper manufacturer Korsnäs, and Malongo, and it could open up new doors for Walki in the future.

With this investment, Miston Oy becomes the majority owner of Oliotalo. Kaius Häggblom, the founder and managing director, will stay with the company as the managing director and co-owner. Oliotalo Oy will continue operations as an independent company.

Pankaboard is reintroducing its main cartonboard grades PankaBrite and PankaWhite with clearly improved product features and performance. Over the past year the company has made substantial efforts and investments in order to bring forward the overall product quality of its major packaging grades. As a result of this determined work Pankaboard is now proudly presenting cartonboard grades, which are bulkier, stronger, optically whiter and which are remarkably improved in terms of sensoric properties. Konecranes series CLX02/05/10: powerful and durable chain hoists for cranes and assembly cells Konecranes has expanded its range of workstation lifting systems to include the chain hoists of the CLX series. These newly developed models have several advantages: they are more powerful, 25% faster and their service life is four times longer. The new CLX chain hoists can be employed as standalone applications such as in assembly cells for the processing industry, as well as in workstation and gantry cranes.

Kemira is introducing KemFlite™, a new concept to reduce paper and board machine problems that are caused by deposits due to the agglomeration of hydrophobic particles. These particles typically originate from wood pitch, stickies or binders in coated broke and have previously been difficult to detect and control. Under certain conditions the particles agglomerate to a larger size and eventually deposit on paper machine wet-end surfaces, wires, felts and dryer cans.
