Air purifier for hotel rooms premiered when industry rewarded innovations

The AirTable air purifier, developed specifically for hotel rooms and based on innovative design and technology, was worth premiering as a finalist among hundreds of selected competitors. So thought the jury for the 'Editor's Choice Awards for Best New Product' at an event arranged in conjunction with the recent IH/M&R Show, one of the world's largest conventions for the hotel industry. Effective and quiet air purification for a better environment and less cleaning promise the Swedish manufacturers, Airbite AB, who also received a substantial order from the American hotel market during the event.

It was at the leading convention for the hotel industry, the International Hotel/Motel & Restaurants Show in November, that the AirTable was announced one of the winners in the Furnishing & Fixtures category. This convention, being held for the 86th time, attracted more than 58,000 visitors and 2,000 exhibitors.

AirTable have developed an air purifier in the form of an aesthetically attractive table that is directly adapted for use in hotel rooms. A proprietary filter system is said to effectively remove tobacco smoke, particles, and dust to the benefit of both guests and personnel. Almost silent operation is promised in order to enable the purifier to be used even when guests are sleeping. Savings shall be made through reduced needs for cleaning, washing, and airing, coupled with decreased wear and tear on the interior.

"We are, quite naturally, proud that the hotel industry has acknowledged the AirTable," says the company's CEO Stefan Jansson. "The product has been developed in close collaboration with a leading hotel chain in order to fulfil the industry's demands on effectiveness, functionality, and good design."

In technical terms, the volume of air in a normal hotel room is filtered three times an hour. When required, this rate can be tripled using the special turbo function. Due to the specially developed filter design, the filter shall not need replacing more than twice a year. The equipment fulfils the ISO 9001 quality requirements and the ISO 14000 environmental class requirements.

Breakthrough in the USA
In conjunction with the award, the company received a substantial American order worth SEK 370,000. The local distributor is Inn-Room Services, Inc., with their head office in Chicago.

"We are concentrating on establishing new contacts with distributors throughout the world, in addition to those we already have in the USA, Canada, Mexico, India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh," says Jansson. "There is a great deal of interest in both the Scandinavian and international markets for the product. It has already been installed in over forty leading hotels in Sweden, as well as in a number of hotels in Europe and Asia."
