Europes entrepreneurs to meet in Cannes

Growth Plus Europe, the body that represents Europe's Entrepreneurs, is to hold its annual conference and award ceremony in Cannes next year between 23-25 March.

This meeting is an important opportunity for entrepreneurs throughout the region to share their experiences. In addition, Europe's most successful and dynamic entrepreneurs will be recognised through the organisation's annual Europe's 500 awards.
Recently appointed president, Leopoldo Fernandez Pujals, says, "In 1998, the Europe's 500 Honorary listing identified five hundred of the fastest growing companies in Europe who, together, have created more than 181,000 jobs over the last five years. It is obvious, therefore, that entrepreneurship needs to be encouraged and promoted throughout Europe. I believe our members have a key role to play in this respect."

Invitation to Cannes
The organisation was invited to Cannes by the Regional development agency, Cote d'Azure Developpment, CAD. This agency is co-ordinating a local host committee that will include key organisations such as the General Council of Alpes-Maritime Region and the Chamber of Commerce. Most of the conference will take place in Sophia Antipolis, the modern business and research centre which has been highly successful in attracting high tech companies to this part of France.
The conference is also being supported by the French Ministry of Economics, Finance and Industry. This will ensure that senior representatives from the government in Paris will join delegates in Cannes.
Much of the planning and organisation of the conference will be carried out by Croissance Plus, the French chapter of the organisation. Many of its members are likely to attend. Growth Plus Europe, with a current membership of more than 300, is a not-for-profit pan -European association with national or regional chapters. Its mission is to promote entrepreneurial activities throughout Europe by building on the strengths, skills and expertise of its members. This organisation was formed recently through a merger of two bodies, Croissance Plus based in France and the pan-European, Europe's 500.
