New alliance in insertion technology

Swedish based LIMT (Local Insertion Media Technology) has purchased Channelmatic, Inc. for USD 10,91 million using funds raised by D. Carnegie in Stockholm. LIMT, which has developed a method to insert local TV commercial spots into national television transmissions using MPEG2 technology, has already had huge success with its LVS 300 video server which it began marketing six months ago. Channelmatic is a leading US manufacturer of systems for digital automation and distribution solutions for the television industry with a world-wide sales and support organization.

Swedish based LIMT (Local Insertion Media Technology) has developed a method to insert local commercial TV spots into national terrestrial and satellite based television transmissions. The company’s LVS 300 system uses leading edge MPEG2 digital communications technology to allow national and regional stations to split commercial air time among a number of advertisers. In this way they are able to increase advertising revenue while staying within existing concession constraints.
