The Finnish Benefon Oy offers its newly type-approved Gamma GSM mobile phone with an exceptional three year warranty. Based on the company´s long experience of analogue mobile phone design, the company´s first GSM terminal is said to be equally reliable and equipped with the latest technology, such as short message service (SMS), CLIP-capabilities and numerous customizing features.

"The phone enters the commercial markets later than its rivals, but in a promising situation, as the fast growth of GSM sales seems to continue. At the GSM world Congress in Cannes cellular manufacturers estimated the terminal sales to exceed 30 million units in 1997", says Mr Kari Suominen, Benefon´s Product Group Manager for GSM.
According to Mr Suominen, the company has carried out an intensive development program in a record time with relatively scarce resources resulting in the company´s first GSM-mobile phone. The product is described as an ergonomically and aesthetically well designed phone with a solid cast alloy frame available in five metallic colours.
Gamma GSM has a large full graphic display which shows up to four rows of information ans supports the use of helpful symbolism and extra large "Superfonts" numbers. The keypad layout has been made according to international standards and the number of keys minimized for ease of use. The nine most important numbers can be fast-dialled simply by hitting one key. The company´s acknowledged radio quality provide maximum range and clear sound quality.
The new GSM model weights 240 gr with the standard battery and offers adequate stand-by and talk-times. Due to an intelligent battery management system an extended battery life is quaranteed. A quick memory has room for the 15 last dialled, 5 answered and 5 unanswered calls. Gamma is able to store up to 150 telephone numbers besides the capacity included in the plug-in-sized SIM. For the frequent traveller, the phone offers time and date display as well as an alarm clock with the smart timer based on/off function.
For faster operation the User Menu can be personalized according to individual needs. The phone´s various settings can be adjusted as well as memory slots created or edited with a PC using the BeneWin software and Editor cable.
The Gamma GSM is supported by a variety of accessories including a hands free car kit, various chargers, belt-clip and BeneWin software.
