Airgas and electrical drive pumps and multipoint injection system designed for reliability in chemical metering

A series of chemical metering devices including controlled volume pumps with both air/gas and electrical drives has been introduced by Haskel International. The new Millennium Series also includes the Haskel-Palpro IRCD, a device designed for use in multi-point chemical injection systems where the same chemical is delivered to multiple locations.

"These products are designed to meet the needs of the oil and gas industry with air/gas drive, and the wider range of process industries with electrical drive equipment," said Peter Duffy, company vice president for sales and marketing.

Electrical Drive
The new electrical drive metering pumps (Series 4000) can be used for most liquid dosing, metering and blending applications. These include the chemical process, water treatment, pharmaceutical, hydrocarbon processing, pulp & paper, power generation and food industries. The pumps can also be used with slurries or viscous fluids. The amplitude modulated pump design meets or exceeds the API 675 specifications for accuracy and repeatability for controlled volume pumps.
Modular construction is employed for simplicity and reliability, with each pump comprising of four fully sealed and independent components. Either electric or pneumatic stroke control is available, allowing the pump to be fully automated.

Air/Gas Drive
The Millennium 2000 Series is an air/gas operated metering pump designed for the oil and gas production and process industries. Its new Micro-Rate Controller (U.S. patent pending) assures reliable operation with wet or contaminated drive gas by eliminating all sliding seals and incorporating a variable geometry flow restrictor with large minimum passageways. Maintenance of the pump has been made easier by the use of quick disconnect couplings and components. Corrosion resistant materials are used throughout.
Typical applications include injection of methanol, corrosion inhibitors, emulsifiers, reverse emulsifiers, biocides, scale inhibitors, water clarifiers, paraffin solvents, H2S scavengers and others.

IRCD Multi-point Injection
The Millennium Series also includes the Haskel-Palpro IRCD (Injection Rate Control Device) for multi-point injection of chemicals into oil and gas production systems. The IRCD operates by maintaining a constant differential pressure across the flow control valve, assuring constant flow at varying injection pressures.
The IRCD system requires only one high pressure line and uses only one pump for multiple injection points, as compared with systems that require a pump at each injection point. This simplicity results in an increase in reliability, and allows substantial savings in space, weight and cost.
