New PC system gives companies increased security and greater flexibility in access control

Computerised processing helps firms speed up visitor logging and internal changes to the access control system. At the IFSEC Fair, Bewator, a major supplier of access control solutions, launched Bewapass/Entro, a PC-based access control system, developed for ease of installation and use.

“Our customers range from small through medium-sized to large companies in areas such as insurance, banking/finance, the manufacturing industry and IT. Most of them want to be able to administer their access control system by computer. This is equally true of the fast-growing market in the countries of Eastern Europe”, says Bo Kulhanek, Managing Director of Bewator.
Bewapass/Entro is a 100 percent in house-developed system with several new patented functions. Instead of keys, which can easily be copied or lost, the system uses cards. The cards can be combined with a personal code number for even greater security.
“The system was developed to be extremely user-friendly. It runs under Windows 95 and help menus can be displayed on the screen”, says Bo Kulhanek.
One system can handle up to 256 doors and 8000 people. People with access to the premises are placed in authorisation groups, each of which may have access to different doors and departments. Occasional visitors such as consultants, repair technicians and visiting customers can also be handled.
“Simple use and installation are appreciated not only by our customers but also by our dealers. With Bewapass/Entro we expect to be see a large increase in our international market share”, comments Bo Kulhanek.
